Being treated unfairly

What is discrimination?

Discrimination is when someone treats you unfairly because of who you are.

This could be because of your age; the things that you do or believe in; or the way that you look.

Everyone has the right to be treated fairly and respectfully – no one should treat another person differently because of how they look, or things they do.

Hate Crime can be something that can lead on from discrimination. This is when crimes are committed against people because of the who they are, what they believe in or how they choose to live their life.

If you believe you have been a victim of hate crime, tell an adult you trust or speak to Voice.
