Voice urges vigilance to the grooming and exploitation of young or vulnerable people for drug and gang activity

We are asking people to be alert to the grooming and exploitation of young and vulnerable people who may be drawn into drug & gang activity.

Operation Viper is Northamptonshire Police operation to crack down on those involved in drug and gang related crime.

The use of intelligence-led tactics has recently led to the execution of over 70 warrants in Northamptonshire, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and London.

105 individuals, aged between 15 and 55, have been arrested, 87 of whom have been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, with 62 then remanded in custody.

Officers have also recovered nearly £250,000 worth of goods including £25,000 worth of Class A drugs – this has effectively dismantled a number of Organised Crime Groups.

With the above in mind, please be extra vigilant regarding drug dealing, money lending and emerging criminal trends – particularly in and around the town centre, and on the North Eastern district of Northampton.
