A note from Fiona Campbell, Chief Executive
As Chief Executive, I am extremely proud to lead Voice for Victims and Witnesses, and I would like to welcome you to our very first newsletter. In just 12 months, we’ve changed service provider, moved premises and seen significant performance improvements!
Police and Crime Commissioner thanks Voice
Commissioner Mold visited Voice staff to thank them personally for their work in responding to over 10,000 referrals over the past year, with 99% of victims and witnesses being contacted within 48 hours of referral over the past four months.
Restorative Justice
A couple in their 70s were living in a peaceful area of Northamptonshire and enjoying retirement, when a prolific offender, with convictions spanning over 20 years, broke into their home and stole a large volume of jewellery. See how they used Restorative Justice to get closure on the incident.
Road Harm
On 11th May 2018 a 33-year-old male had been shopping with his wife. As he stood at the back of the car putting shopping into the boot, a vehicle drove at speed into the space behind. It didn’t stop in time.
Voice helps abuse victim claim £22k compensation
Recently, Voice helped a victim of historic sexual abuse win a £22,000 claim form the Criminal Injuries compensation Scheme. Specialist Case Worker, Darren Nutt, helped the person through the application process following several months of support.
